Browser Market Share 2010
February 1, 2010 by Brandon L. Barnett
Maintaining the user experience across multiple platforms and browsers is truly the bane of web designer’s existence. Net Applications released their usage statistics for January 2010 and the day has come that IE6 has finally been dethroned.
Internet Explorer 8 has taken the “most popular” browser spot from the long time title holder, IE6, which has been taken down a notch by the decline in the people using Windows XP and migrating to Windows 7.
This also gives you a good idea as to which platforms to focus on and test. IE6 compatibility is still required for now, but I believe we’ll be seeing some big leaps forward with the introduction of HTML5 of how people view and use the web.
